I have been using Embird for the past 7 or 8 years for designing logos and such to support my wife's business.  All is good and I love Embird.  No other embroidery software developer puts more dedication to developing and improving their product than they do.

Recently I had a task to put text on a curve.  No biggie as I have done many text jobs in the past.  However this time, the text needed to be on the inside of a curve.  It took me a long time to figure out the only way was using the circle baseline and then working the end point grips until I had the circle reversed with the text on the inside of the curve.  Does anyone know of a better way or the correct way to move text from an outside circle to the inside?  Seems like it should be a very simple task but turned into a couple hours to of believing there should be a better way.

Thanks,
MB

Hi MB

In the Layout screen in  Embird Editor there is a box at the bottom of the screen “Place on other side”. Place a check mark in this box and the text will move to inside your circle.

If you’re using Text or Font Engine in Embird Studio then there is also a shortcut on the Menu Bar to place the text on the other side as well.

I hope that helps

Kind regards

Carolyn

There is a button at the top of the Alphabet/Font Engine window in Studio that will allow you to Place Text on Other Side. This should put your text on the inside of the circle and it will be right side up once you drag it around to the bottom of the circle.

If you want the text on the inside of the circle, but reading right side up at the TOP, you need to select the Characters mode (upper right corner of the right panel). Go to the Parameters tab (the one with the “speedometer” icon). Down at the bottom of the right panel, select All. Then use the setting just above where it says Flip Horizontally. This is the Above/Below Baseline setting. You can set it to a negative number to get the tops of the letters to ride on the inside of the circle baseline. Note: Don’t forget to uncheck All so you can tweak individual letter settings again.
