I  have basic embird with no plug-ins. I have merged letters for team name with small emblem.  Is there a plug-in or way to program to complete one color of multi color design to save time?

Find your design.  Click on editor on the top bar.  It should show each part of the design on the right side of your screen.  Click on a part then click on the same color that you want.  It really doesn't matter what color you choose.  Just make sure that you click on the same color for each part and it will make your design all one color.

Not sure what you are wanting to do.  If you want to sew all the instances of the same color at the same time, then click on Smart Color Sort in the tool bar.  If it doesn’t combine all the instances of the same color together, then the program says that some things are meant to sew on top of another and it is honoring the digitizer’s design.  You can force all instances to sew together, but you may not like the results and you may end up with sections that were meant to be below another actually on top instead.

If you want a monochrome design (it doesn’t sound like that from your note, but just in case) you can select all sections of the design and change all the colors to the same one by right clicking on a color and then selecting set all colors identical.  HTH  Linda I

Be careful. A multicolor design generally has colors in the order of the layers of the design eg a bird may have white in several places but at different levels of the design. If you batch your whites together it would totally ruin the final stitch out!

The previous response was based on changing all colors to white use this only if that is what you wanted to do!

You can select (click on) the box with a color and drag that to the next box where you will select 'set identical'. I tried using the 'make all identical' but that has not worked for me. One at a time is usually not a large problem.

If the digitizer has done a good job of putting together the stitches (directionally for instance), your monotoned design will have details. They may not be as prominent as with separate colors, but you will see the 'eyes', or 'hair' as separate components. It is true that the digitizer has gone to the trouble of doing details, but a monotone is terrific as well.

I love a monotone because it allows the viewer to see interesting things in a different format.
