Hi everyone!

Ok.  So I'm a bit of an Embird newbie but have been using it for 1-2 months now with really no issues until now.  Within the last 24 hours, my Brother PE770 won't read any NEW designs from my USB drive.  I am saving the designs as .PES and saving them as a size allowable for the hoop (5x7 or smaller).  When I insert my USB drive, my embroidery machine will recognize the new folder that I created for the design, but not the design itself.  I am not saving folders within folders; I know that can be an issue.  I tried to use several different USB drives and even reformatted them, still no luck.  I "repaired" my G Drive on my computer, still no luck.  I turned my PE770 on/off several times and unplugged it, still no luck.

I'm seriously at my wits end over here.  This issue really started after I started began around with splitting designs for a new 5x12 hoop that I got.  Did I somehow "check" some box or change settings which is causing this issue?  When I go into manager, it shows the design as being less than 5x7 and shows the hoop as a 5x7.

Any ideas?  Thank you, in advance, for saving my sanity!

I am having the exact same issue. I have only had my machine for a couple of months but the first couple of times I did it from embird it worked and now it won't. Someone gave me PE Design so I right to my usb from that program with no problems but when I do it from embird my machine does not read the file.

Hi my name is Tamra and I have had my PE770 for 2 years now and love it, also use only Embird for all of my work.  I have found all of the ins and outs of using my Embird with my PE770.  Hope this will help, first of all the PE770 will only read a 2GB Flash Drive, you can not use any larger flash drive.  You can find these on Amazon, I use the Kingston flash drives and have had no problems.  If you have designs that are larger than a 5x7 stitch field I use Embird to split them and use a 5x7 hoop size but change it to horizontal so my actual stitch width would be 7 wide and my length can be as long as I want because I rehoop for each section of the design I want to stitch out.  Hope this helps, if you need additional help will be happy to oblige if I can, also found out that I don't need PE Design because Embird does it all.  In Fall of 2015 I will be purchasing my Dreamweaver XE VM6200D and will continue to use my Embird with it.  Let me know how you do. Tamra

I also found out that I can not load a folder onto my flash drive to work in my PE770, must save an individual file on my flash drive, no folders containing more than one design, also if you are splitting a design in embird it will split in to 3 separate files labeled as  1, 2, 3 etc and as long as you save these as individual files to your flash drive they will work just fine, hope this helps, remember no folders on flash drive for PE770, also remember only a 2GB Flash Drive works in the PE770, if you look on Amazon you can find the Kingston 2GB Flash Drives for 12.99 each, Kingston works in my machine just fine.

It definitely doesn't matter what size jump drive I use. I formatted my card saved it from embird and it wouldn't read. I then reformatted and saved it from PE Next and it worked fine.

I do see the upgrade for embird has a fix for a pes file. Maybe that was the problem.

Heidi,

I found that having too many designs on my USB does this and yes folders inside folders.

I can not save my designs in a folder for my flash drive to work and recognize my design, I can only save the actual file, not folders and it works fine, hope this helps.
