D1 disk msg "disk not accessible" Embird 2016

I have a Designer 1 machine and have purchased the Embird 2016 program and am using windows 10.  I am having issues with the disk not being read by the machine.  I can get it to work if I save a design without making any changes to it. BUT when I create a name from a font in Editor and then go to Manager to save it to a Di disk, it tells me that all is good.  Then when I put it in the D1 it will read the disk enough to see the image but then when you choose the image and go to the grid screen it says "disk not accepted".  I don't understand why this is happening.  It WILL still read the disks I created when the program was in demo version! .  I have checked the floppy drive and it is working fine.   Thank you for any help you may have.  :0)
