splitting for brother jumbo hoop 14 x 14

Hi All,

looking for help when splitting designs for the 14 x14 hoop. I follow the steps have 2 pieces but always seem to end up with 3 pieces after saving. then machine doesn't see the file.

¸I think there is a problem with splitting in the current version.  I am able to split and save on my laptop which still has the 2013 version but unable to do the same thing on my desktop, running the 2015 version.  I had communicated with Ladislav several weeks ago about a bug when you had right-clicked on a preferred hoop in the hoop selection window and set that hoop as a default- he replicated this and agreed that it needed to be fixed and I didn't realize until last evening that the problem may extend to all the overlap hoops. I will be emailing him about this today.

Is there an actual 14 x 14 hoop like there is for the Pfaff?  That would be really cool if you did not have to re-hoop at all.  Or are you making a 14x14 design and re-hooping as needed?

Please bear with me as I try to figure out how to reply to a post. Lorna I believe your right there is a problem with 2015 Embird and splitting designs at least for the brother 14 x 14 hoop. I installed 2013 and was able to split the file and my machine recognized it and did the appropriate things when switching from first side to second side.

I have another design to split for this hoop hope this work as well as it's suppose to.

Thanks for the suggestion to try 2013.

Marietta my machine has a 14 x 14 hoop that you just turn around to sew the second half with the correct file it should even line up the second side with the first side automatically. This is the first time I use this hoop and for the one I just finished I lined it up manually came out very nice. We'll see how well the automatic alignment  works I'm rather fussy about how my work looks.

I use Embird and a program called Embrilliance.  Love both but I find the embrilliance program wins hands down when it comes to splitting for the 14inch hoop.

The size of the Brother Jumbo overlap hoop is 360 mm xoxo 30 mm or 14.17 inches square. This hoop is used on the Brother/Baby lock 10 - needle machines. Half the design is stitched, then the entire hoop is re-installed the other way around for the second part to stitch out. It's a great hoop!

I have a brother pr1000 machine. It has a 14 x14 hoop that you sew one half then turn the hoop around and sew the other half no rehooping needed. With the proper embroidery file the machine should help with the positioning of the second side. I understand Embird is capable of creating that file but I was unable to do so with 2015 Embird.

I was able to split the file and save in several parts which the machine sees. Embird directions say I can split the design for the hoop and when saved it is one file that my machine will see and use the special routine for the 14 x14 hoop. I have tried another design I do the split have the two parts on the side but when I save I end up with a third part on the side and a file my machine doesn't recognize. I have the 2013 down load when I get a chance l’ll load it and see if that works.

are you able to use the snowman feature on your brother 10 needle when you split the design in Emird or Embriliance? I have Embird 2015 and can split the design but I'm not having any luck using the snowman feature as its pitched to us if you split the design in PE Desing next. (i.e. sew the first half. the machine asks if you are ready to stitch the second half, you flip the hoop and resume sewing)

I wasn't able to split a design using Embird 2015 and get a file that my machine will recognize. I used Embird 2013 to split the same design for the 14 x 14 hoop I was able to load the design and tested the turn around part of the sewing. The snowman for location from the first half to the second half worked. Unfortunately I had already completed the project and can't tell you how well it located the second half. I looked at embrillance but you can't create a usable file in demo mode and I don't want to spend hard earned money on something that may or may not work.

There is an update for embird 20015. The update has fixed my problems with splitting for the brother 14 x 14 jumbo hoop. I get usable files now.
