HELP PLEASE! I have followed all of the tutorials on Embird and youtube trying to learn to split so I can use my 5x12 hoop but every time I stitch the different sections they are offset. Does anyone have experience with this one?

Are you doing the auto - split? Are you putting in registration marks?

I have been through this! I have the exact same machine, hoop, and software. First made SURE you have unchecked "Center in hoop" I assume you were able to "split" the design into two without any problem. Is your problem when you go to put it on the machine and actually stitch it out? Are the designs overlapping each other or two far away from each other?

Hi Ashley,

When you save the design after you have it split, are you using File > SAVE AS to save the design? This is really important for Brother multi-position hoops. You get ONE file that you send to the machine, but the machine sees it as several … you will choose which piece to stitch 1st, 2nd, 3rd … without any offset. Also try saving it without having Center in Hoop checked on the format window to see if that helps.

If you use File >Save Separated As, the designs are saved as separate files, each of which you load in the machine. The machine may center each piece of the design automatically, even if you didn’t have Center in Hoop selected when you saved it. This would account for the design become offset. Using File > Save As should fix the problem.

Hope that helps …
