are you using Windows 7? did you turn off User Account Controls before trying to activate? did you check the help pages on Embirds website?

Information regarding the error message you are seeing, and your computer system, and the steps you've taken would be very helpful to us in helping you.

The software does work.

Hi Chrissy,

If you are using Windows Vista, try turning off the compatibility mode for
Embird.

Right click the Embird desktop icon, choose Properties from the pop-up menu.
Choose the Compatibility tab.
Uncheck the "Run this program in compatibility mode for".
Then try the activation again.

I got a virus with mine; used Pay Pal; Pay Pal won't refund because
their guarantee does not cover "services" only products.

Why would you want a refund?

Go back to the Embird site and download it again.

Then un-install the previous version and setup the latest download.

You can do this as often as you need to until YOU get it right.

You should, as a matter of course, de-activate all anti -virus software while you are downloading programs from safe sites, otherwise your anti-virus program will remove sections of downloads that it doesn't recognise.

I highly doubt you would have got a virus from Embird's site, more likely from somewhere you have been while collecting freebies.

Embird does not have a virus but some virus software packages sometimes
think it is. I would deactivate your virus software, delete the
download you just did and redownload. There is nothing wrong with
Embird.

I have never had a problem with the upgrades in the 5+ years I've had
Embird. This latest upgrade installed OK (I think, can't get into
the program to be sure) but I can get no further than the Activation
screen. I am using Vista and have turned off the UAC, made sure the
compatibility mode was unchecked and right clicked on the Embird icon
to run as administrator. Clicking on the Activate button locks my
computer up and I have to go into Task Manager to close out Embird. I
do not get an error message, the computer just locks up. I don't know
what else to try and after working on this for several hours after
work for the past two days, I am really frustrated. I regret trying
to get this upgrade because I love Embird and used it a lot - now I am
without it totally. If no one can give me something else to try with
the Activation process then I am going to attempt to put the old
version of Embird back on my computer and will never change it again.

Hi Sandi

You need to be sure you are connected to the internet when doing the
Activation. If you are having problems with the on-line activation, you can
activate it through email. There are directions on the Embird website.
