Hi everyone!

I am VERY new to the embroidery world and I am new to embird.  I need advice on how to convert a jpg to a PES so I can use it with my machine. I would LOVE any advice on how to do this.

Thanks in advance!!

Hi Holly,

You would need to have Studio and digitize the design which would basically convert it into a stitch (PES, DST, etc) file.

You could also have someone else do it.  There are many digitizers who do work online.  (ie. 24hourartwork.com or digitizingpro.com)

I am new to Embird also. I have both the base program and also Studio and Iconizer.  Up to this, I've been using the above websites to get my files digitized.

Hope this helps,
Don

You need to have the Studio digitizing part of Embird to take a jpg and make it into a design.  There are several lessons on the Embird site and a list of teachers also.

We have all had lots and lots of classes and many. many tutorials to get to this point.  Please join Peggy’s Yahoo group where you can get advice on where to get training to understand how to digitize.

I don’t need to sound harsh, but if words like pull compensation, underlay, and density are foreign to you, you will need training to get the job done.

Marietta

You have to have the studio part of embird.   And join some of the yahoo groups devoted to digitizing.   It isn't as easy as just having a jpg converted to embroidery design.  Vi

Hi Holly,

"Converting" from jpg to a embroidery format is digitizing. In Embird you can do it 3 ways, but you must have Studio to do it.

Most people do it manually: you go around an area putting down nodes and then convert it to stitches. You choose your angle of the stitches and density etc. beforehand.

There is also a "magic wand" in studio for auto digitizing. Here you can choose whether you want to use fill stitch or column (satin) stitch and Embird picks up the colors and put in the stitches automatically. Your picture must have solid colors, though, otherwise you will end up with hundreds of color changes!!

With the third method you need vector files like wmf, you can't use jpg's with this, and it is also auto digitizing.

Hope you understand what I'm trying to explain!!!

Ria
