New to Embird Studio question about settings and parameters window

Hi,

I just purchase Embird 2016 (plus studio) and while following a tutorial for studio on stitches, I noticed that my parameters window is different.  It does not have the single stitch option and it does not have the apply, generate stitches, ok or cancel buttons on the bottom of it.  I do have a window below that says to activate windows go into settings.  

I have tried going into settings for embird but can't figure out what I need to change to have these options....can anyone help me out?\
