At brothers homepage, it said both .pen and .pes files.
Guess it is a very special format.
Non of my programs are able to convert it as well….

My apologies, but I misspelled the website! It’s www.ibroidery.com. I was
able to locate some additional information on their Download Policy page,
which is:
"Digital embroidery design(s) is in the .pen proprietary format. The .pen
format can NOT be changed."
So I guess I'm stuck with this "new" format.

I don't think .pen is an embroidery file and I did not find any embroidery
files at that site.

Thank you for your explanation. Now I know what happened and why I cannot
convert the file.
Since I cannot use the file, I am attaching it to this message in return for
your help (and knowing that you can use the file). I'm glad that someone
will be able to use the file after all.
In appreciation,
Janice

It is the Brother Disney machines. Proprietary only. No changes.

Example:
I have a Brother ULT 2001 and it can't stitch them but my new Brother
Quattro 2 6700 D can stitch them.
I thought you had to specify the model of your machine in order to purchase
the Disney designs so I am not sure why it let you buy them for a machine
model that runs jef format files. The website really should have notified
you before you purchased so you did not waste your money."
At least I know why no one has been able to convert the file, and that the
file format does exist. I've learned a lot about this file format!

Really? What machine uses .pen? I could not find anything that could even
read that.

There is a second e-mail that says the correct web page
yes .pen is there also it says it can be converted with only Brother PE Design.
Gotta buy that software but go to a brother group to discuss this!
Wanda,
As I understand it now, this format (*.pen) only runs on certain Brother Disney-designated machines and cannot be converted to other formats. This must be why no one has been able to identify the format for conversion, so I may be stuck with a file I cannot use. I don't remember what I paid for it, and I've certainly learned a great deal about it since then.
An example of a Brother machine that can read this file format is a Brother Quattro 2 6700 D.
