Has anyone else had this problem?  I insert trim codes, save the digitized file as a 6.0 pes and when I reopen the file the trim codes are gone.

If i save it in other fornats, dst, xxx, hus I find the trim codes are still there.

Help!

Hi Erica,

PES format does not save Trim codes. Your Brother and Babylock machines basically look at the length of the jump stitch. If it is too short, no trim. If it is long enough, it trims. Many machines no longer use the trim codes but use the length of the jumps instead.

That is important information!  I have the same problem.

Do you know how long that distance might be?

I get confused when I use a font (not from Embird) and on one project, it did jumps.  The machine was turned off over night.  Then in the morning, it did those stitches between words.  It was the same font but behaved in two different ways.  It was not the exact same wording.  There were no other changes to the settings.  One was a jump and the other was three stitches in the same area.

To get a trim between lines, I alternate colors.  I find it is quicker to do that than to dig out black threads from a white background.

Why do you not delete the stitches in between in the pattern? that will leave them out all together?

I know this doesn't solve the problem of the trim code, but, I have found that if I make each letter a different color in Editor, then the machine stops at the end of each one . I don't change the thread color at each stop, but, it does set the stitch and trims the thread.
