I should take a moment and welcome our early arrivals! I expect the migration
will happen slowly at best, or die off before it really ramps up. The Meetup
had about 820 people in it, I certainly don't expect that kind of volume here.

But it's something. And this message will be visible if new arrivals go and
look at the accumulated stuff, sort of like the meetup "discussions" worked.

For the record, at the risk of redundancy because it's probably what led folks
to mailing-list signup, most of the old group's photos were recovered to

by a process I call "cloud-to-cloud lightning", a simple script running on a
virtual server, to grab them out of Meetup and stuff them straight into S3
where outbarefoot.org is hosted and generate all the indexes in the process.
Deriving and then converting all the original image URLs was the tricky part;
yay unix command-line tools. The albums used to be freely available to
viewers not logged into Meetup; that hassince changed, and Meetup actually
lies about it.
