I'm running the first public session of Embedded Linux Jumpstart
in 2010, at the following location:
Embedded Linux Jumpstart
January 25-28, 2010
Wingate by Wyndham Peoria Hotel
Peoria, Illinois USA
$2750 per student, group discounts available
This four-day class will cover in detail the most important
topics related to using Linux in embedded applications. To make
the lab exercises even more realistic, I have incorporated
hardware to control an N-Scale model locomotive over I2C, GPIO,
or any other interface the Linux kernel supports including
Ethernet and USB. At the end of this class, you will be
well-experienced in writing complex Linux device drivers of many
types, and will be ready to take that knowledge back to your own
projects.
My graduates consistently report that this class exceeds their
expectations, and greatly improves their abilities to adapt and
use Linux in robust, real-world embedded applications. With more
than a decade of embedded Linux experience behind me, I can
provide you with a training experience that is immediately
relevant and useful--- because I use that same knowledge to
succeed in my own projects.

In addition to the knowledge gained during intensive, hands-on
lab exercises, each student goes home with the hardware they used
in class--- a $700 value. That includes the single-board
computer that runs Linux, plus the hardware that controls the
locomotive layout. Your instructor can also provide directions
to retail sources for locomotives, track, and other items
necessary to complete your own personal setup. :)
This class is subject to a minimum enrollment, and space is
limited. So please register as soon as possible! Feel free to
contact me with any questions or comments. And please forward
this email to anyone you know who might be interested in this class.
Kindest regards,
b.g.
