Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ!
I trust that you are all well. This is an update of the upcoming activities this December.
A. GLOBAL DAY OF SERVICE (December 7th onwards)
For this year's GDS, our theme is "Give Love On Christmas Day". We request all Households/Units to gather used/new clothing and shoes that we can give to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. There will be no community activity for this, but we request representatives to bring the items to the Mission House from December 7th-11th from 2-5pm. Unit Heads kindly lead in gathering the items to be given away. Parents and children are welcome to join and help in segregating and wrapping the items as they bring it to the Mission House.
On December 19th and 20th, In behalf of the CFC Community, the missionaries will then deliver the items to different Congregations/Centres/Orphanage who are in dire need of clothing and shoes. You may also give us your suggestions on where to give the items. Volunteers are welcome to join giving away the gifts.
This will be documented and a copy of the full video will then be forwarded to all households to shown during Family Honouring Night.
Suggested items to bring:
Used/new clothes and shoes/sandals, socks, (Bath) Towels, Toiletries (Soap, new Toothbrush, etc.)
B. FAMILY DAY
This year, we have been blessed in our evangelisation work as a community. We welcome new members who graduated from the CLP in the different parishes and new areas. We praise God for His goodness.
One of our thrust is to strengthen our relationship with the clergy and making our presence felt in our respective Parishes/Dioceses.
Having said, for this year's Family Day, instead of gathering as one big community, let us put our efforts in attending as a household in the Family Day SET BY THE PARISH where your HH group belongs. Let your presence be felt by actively participating in the activities and wearing CFC and Family Ministry shirts.
If your Household belongs to a parish, please find out the schedule of their FAMILY DAY and Household Heads should encourage their members to join and participate.
For example, Holy Trinity Church will have its Family Day on the 5th of December and Kilimani Household is set join the gathering and participate in the activities for that day. Basilica will have theirs on the 20th of December so we will encourage the new members there to attend as well.
Household heads, kindly check the schedule of the Family Day in your parish and please plan to attend. You can even go and attend
as a Unit to all Parishes in your area:
St. Catherine (South C) - Ahadi HH
Don Bosco (Upper Hill) - Southlands HH
St. Austin (Lavington) - St. Valentine and St. Anne HH
Holy Rosary (Ridgeways) - Central Ruby and Pearl HH
St. Francis Xavier (Parklands) - Parklands HH
OLQP (South B) - East and Embakasi HH
DIWOPA (Kayole) - Kayole HH
Sts. Joaquim and Anne - Soweto HH
St. Francis Xavier (Naivasha) - Naivasha HH
This is one concrete way of showing that we are indeed present in the different parishes and ready to work hand in hand to build our families, community and parish life. At the same an opportunity for us to introduce the community to the parishioners and hopefully encourage them to attend our CLPs in 2016. We encourage everyone to take videos/photos of their participation and send them to
couplesfor...@gmail.com so we can share it through our social media.
In line with this, we have attached a PRAYER FOR THE FAMILY that we can use everyday as we prepare for the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. CFC members GLOBALLY are encouraged to use this prayer during the season of advent (kindly see attached memo 2 and CFC Prayer).
C. FAMILY HONOURING NIGHT
Starting this year, the CFC International Council is introducing a new program called "Family Honouring Night". The goals for this activity are:
1. To spend quality time with our respective families as members and leaders of CFC.
2. To nourish, strengthen and deepen our family relationships in a very special way through honouring each other.
3. To ask for the empowerment of the Holy Spirit in our families, as we are inspired by the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph.
This will be done per CFC family
ANNUALLY during the
Feast of the Holy Family. For this year, it will be on the
27th of December. You can do this with your immediate and extended family. We encourage everyone to take videos/photos as they do their honouring night and send them to
couplesfor...@gmail.com so we can share it through social media.
For more details, kindly go through MEMO 2 and the GUIDELINES attached in this email for the implementation of the activity.
Unit and Household Heads, kindly circulate to all your members including Family Ministries under your area and the Secretariat will do the same.
Please be guided accordingly. God bless!
In Christ,
Goi Villegas
