Media & Placement Committee - FMS EMBA 2012-14 Batch

Ladies & Gentlemen,

Hope you are doing great as always !

I had a word with one of my friend who just finished Executive MBA from IIM Ahmedabad. I came to know that they form many groups apart from their academic groups. Even at FMS, the Full Timers have formed many groups like- Corporate Relations & Placement, Media Co-ordination, Marketing Society, Finance Society etc.

Getting inspired by my friend, I would like to propose to form such groups in our first EMBA batch as well. (May be it will be very difficult to manage).

I would like to volunteer in 2 groups primarily.

1) Corporate Relations & Placement society (To help those, who would like to hunt for better opportunities after the course )

2) Media Co-ordination society (To establish the brand equity for our EMBA course, which is one of its kind in the entire country)

Friends, this is a random thought from my side. I welcome your criticism, views and suggestions towards the same.

Dear friends,

Similar Kind of approach has been initiated by IIM C batch for Executive MBA .They are now use to with this approach and succeed on the same.

There is a forum made by group of student and finalised a volunteer for placement ( who are interested to avail this) and based on the list, the volunteer deals with placement officer/coordinators.

 

we have to initiate the same .

I would like to contribute towards formation of placement cell... just to add in past I have led placement cell for my college in 2004-2006...

incase my experience can be of any use I will be more than willing to contribute...

 

Would suggest and request everyone to meet early on Saturday to discuss various group formation...also we will have to discuss the entire thought and plan with the Preetam Ma'am (Program coordinator South campus) and Director FMS.

Something like this has already been initiated by our senior batches called CIC (Corporate Interaction Cell). They have already met Dean with this proposal and it is under formation yet.

Suggest our CR's  to meet Ritesh Girdhar (who is the CR of second year MBA (PT) batch) to get various updates or initiatives taken by previous batches.

My suggestion is to add our points to the already initiated program.

I just met a guy from second year and he also told me about this group (CIC). He also told me if we would also request to Dean then chances of a positive outcome could increase. So I was just going to write down this email when I saw that someone already initiated this process. Thanks Arup. 

As suggested by Shekhar, we all should gather early on Saturday to discuss about this. I'd like to volunteer for placement cell as I'm having some experience in this field. Rest depends on the will of the class.

Please let me know who all are interested for getting Campus Placement opportunity after the FMS EMBA course. 

Placement committee 

As discussed in the first semester, I feel that we should have a placement committee for inviting HR managers from various companies at our own capacity. The committee can be of 5 members for all future external communication in this regard.

Branding of EMBA (Media team)

For doing a proper publicity about our EMBA course (One of its kind in the SAARC region), we should have a Media Team in place. I am ready to volunteer as a member of this team.
