Gtk-CRITICAL error

Hi
I am running EMAN2 on Linux x86_64 with Ubuntu11.10.
When staring the graphical interface, for example e2workflow.py  I get the following error in the terminal:
 (python:37337): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_widget_style_get: assertion `GTK_IS_WIDGET (widget)' failed.
Then, no other application can be opened with the same error repeating many times in the terminal.
This happens only in the user accounts and not in the root account, so I suppose it is some configuration or permission problem, but I cannot find the source.

Nothing springs to mind.  I have Ubuntu 11.10 on my linux desktop at home, using GTK, and have no issues. I think I may have seen such a warning message before, but it didn't impair using the programs.  Maybe Grant has an idea...

The GTK+ style of Ubuntu 11.10 seems to be the trigger of this issue.
The solution is to install qtconfig-qt4 and change gui style to motif.
