Deploying ICE agents to polling places will lead to widespread voter intimidation and harassment in communities of color.

Hi Email,

ICE agents don’t belong at the polls. Not now, not ever.

And yet, that’s exactly what right-wing extremists are proposing for the midterm elections.1 As more and more of the electorate turns away from the hate and fear-based politics of the MAGA right, Republicans are desperate to find new ways to stop people from voting and hold on to power.2

Deploying ICE agents to polling places will only lead to widespread voter intimidation and harassment in communities of color. That's by design.

Can you tell California Secretary of State Shirley Weber to do everything in her power to ensure polling places are safe, neutral, and ICE-free?

Right-wingers have long used the threat of non-citizen voting to make it harder for all of us to vote. Despite study after study that have proved that non-citizen voting is vanishingly rare, they have hung on to this fallacy as an excuse to disenfranchise more and more voters.3

California is home to 5.5 million naturalized immigrants, who are eligible to vote – the highest number of any state.4 We must lead the way in showing what it means to protect these voters and allow them to cast their ballot come November.

Right now, California legislators are considering a bill to stop ICE at the polls, but we can act now.5 Secretaries of State are the final decision-makers when it comes to the rules governing state polling places, which means that Secretary Weber has the power to stand up to the Trump administration and reject this racist, nativist plan.

Join thousands of Californians in sending a clear message: No ICE at polling places!
