[1.0-BETA27 request] allow restoration of original `basic-save-buffer` functionality

I see you commented on one of my other pull request  so perhaps you are already looking at this as well (if so, please disregard).

Could you please take a look at this pull request for the next release: https://github.com/overtone/emacs-live/pull/199

Currently monkey-patch.el is not correctly preserving the original behavior of basic-save-buffer. As a result, there is not an easy way to override this in my own pack without defining my own monkey patch (which would just be a copy of the original implementation). 

As this is the only request I have put in that cannot be easily taken care of with my own pack, it would be a help if you would consider this one for your next release.
