running convert-ly from elysium

I've hunted around, but I can't see how to run convert-ly from inside
Elysium (latest version on latest Eclipse). How can I set it up if it's
not there as a default action?

Check Preferences > LilyPond > Compiler > Syntax Updater > Update syntax. Elysium updates syntax of old files automatically (based on the \version specification) using convert-ly before compiling if this setting is enabled.
