Dear  EFN  folks,  

Please let me know any of your Loon Chick updates.

Some Loons are still on a nest or it is their 2nd nest attempt.

***If you wish to visit , please remember to keep your 

distance & use your binoculars or cameras.

***Please do NOT change their behavior as that 

means you are too close.  Remember we are on

vacation but  our LOON families are NEVER on

vacation. They are doing basic survival 24/7.

HERE IS MY LIST OF Loon chicks as of  TODAY July 2, 2026

***Bailey's Lake ( Virginia) = 2 chicks but adults may 

move the chicks to Silver lake sometime in July.

***Low LAKE ( Cloquet Line)  = 2 chicks

***Miners lake  =  one chick (  hope it will survive Fireworks)

***Hanson lake = 2 very young chicks ( Echo Trail)

***Glacier Pond= 2 chicks

***Triangle lake =  one chick  ( far north east territory)

***Tofte lake = one chick

IF YOU NEED MORE INFORMATION about how to 

PROTECT our Loons, drop by Sherry's front porch 

for DNR  "  BE LOON AWARE"  brochure , etc

If you can distribute DNR info to OUTFITTERS

& HOTELS & RESORTS... please come get brochures
