Nature Walk and Program Today

  Discovery Walk meets on the Vermilion Campus of Minnesota North College, 1900 E Camp Street in Ely at 1:00 p..m. today (Thursday, June 25) .  Meet on the Ely Greenstone rock outcrop near the flagpoles in the center of the campus buildings. For this 1 to 2:30 walk before the gathering for the afternoon program at 3:00 to 4:30 p.m.

Come to either or both.

Heather Griffith and Sherry Abts will join me to look at the lives of wildlife during summer.  Heather is the Permitted Wildlife Rehabilitator in our area busy at this time of year caring for injured wildlife.

Sherry leads us in observing, reporting and encouraging appreciation and care for common loons that are midway through their summer and efforts to nest and care for young.

This program will begin at 3:00 in Classroom NS 111 on the campus.  Enter at the main entrance at the flagpoles and follow the signs.

There will be lots of information for you to use as you continue in the forests and on the lakes of  Minnesota.
