Trumpeter Swans

A pair of trumpeter swans have made it back to the open water at the Pelican River just south of Orr.  The river opens early there and it is where I usually see the first swans of the season in this area.
A sign of the coming season even if it is snowing like crazy right now.

We saw a flying Trumpeter/Tundra swan twice at White Iron Lake on Sunday, not sure if it was the same one or two separate.
