March 12, "Stormwise Minnesota" at 4.30 Community Center

Hi all

We are not having an Ely Climate Group meeting this month, the next one is planned for April 14th.

But we do have an interesting event in Ely on Thursday of this week, March 12th. The University of Minnesota Extension program is offering a FREE workshop on disaster preparedness at 4:30 to 6:60 pm at the Ely Community Center.

"Stormwise Minnesota is a hands-on disaster preparedness workshop. It will explore risks to the St Louis Co region - like wildfires and floods -walk through a crisis scenario, and help you build a personalised emergency plan for your family, property or farmstead." 

Let's hope we never need these plans, but the climate is getting more variable and the extremes seem to happen with higher frequency. If you are ready yourself you are in a better position to be able to help neighbors and friends. Be a resource to the community!
