Amaryllis in wax

I bought an amaryllis in wax a few days ago. These bulbs have no roots and are sealed with wax except for where the leaves grow at the top. You do not water them and they blossom like crazy. Mine has grown 2" in height in 4 days with 2 blossom stalks shooting up. 

Here is my question. As it grows and blossoms will it weigh more, the same, or less than now? I have put it on my kitchen scales for the last 3 days and its weight is steady at 526g.  But photosynthesis is happening, the new growth is green. 

I'll keep measuring.
