Dear Keith,This appears to be a coyote. The coloration rules out both the gray fox and red fox, also the apparent body size is too large for fox. The brown-tannish color of the animal pictured is typical of coyotes. The large ears (relative to the size of the head), the pointed appearance of the ears (as compared to more rounded appearance), and the narrow snout/muzzle would suggest coyote versus gray wolf.
