I found this curious silken structure where the wall meets the ceiling in our house. Robert Dana suggested it could have been made by one of the sac spiders, perhaps Chieracanthium mildei, the northern yellow sac spider. The structures are for hiding/shelter, not catching prey. I couldn’t confirm the identity because, while there are zillions of photos of spiders on the web, there are precious few that illustrate the webs or structures of specific species or genera. Do others find these in their homes? Does anyone else have identification information for this one?
