Works fine in IE9 (using SVG)
Works fine in IE7/IE8 (VML).
Doesn't work in IE9 in compatibility mode (VML)

Animations and other features works.

The problem was related to a div with opactity: 0 that in IE compatible
mode disable mouse events/interactions.
