生活和工作在北京的艺术家陈文波，在此次展览中将象征社会发展能量的一些坚固、抽象的事物“破碎”，这些如影子般的事物，这些隐喻性的、象征性的事物，深刻地影响着我们的思维，使我们疏于对具体事物的价值的关注。艺术家的提示有助于我们的思考，将隐藏于背
后的具体事物呼唤并浮现出来，使我们思考一些其他的价值。
Chen Wenbo: Broken Series

In his solo exhibition at UCCA, Beijing-based artist Chen Wenbo breaks apart some of the solid and abstract things that symbolize the energy of social development. These shadowy, metaphoric and symbolic matters have a strong impact on our ways of thinking, distracting us from paying attention to the values of concrete, specific things. The alert from the artist helps us think. It makes visible those hidden realities and points us to alternative values.

Cheng Ran & Jiang Pengyi: Immersion and Distance

Curated by established artist Yang Fudong, Immersion and Distance is another one of the Curated by ... series, which recommends two young Chinese artists at one exhibition, trying to arouse a wider interest towards the practice of young Chinese talents in video and photography art. Cheng Ran exhibits his video work Punk's Here to showcase the model of an ideal 'midnight' museum. Two series of photographic works from Jiang Pengyi, poetic and critical respectively, allow the visitors to walk in his mind.

严培明，1960年出生于上海。1980年赴法，现在法国第戎生活，是最早移居海外的中国艺术家之一。严培明的肖像作品长期关注个性和匿名性等社会问题，多家著名艺术机构曾先后为他举办过个展及群展。

关于艺术家
颜磊，1965年出生于河北省，1991年毕业于中国美术学院（原浙江美术学院），2002年获得中国当代艺术奖最杰出艺术家奖，现生活工作于北京。
颜磊的艺术创作跨越行为、摄影、绘画、雕塑、装置等各种媒介，其作品保持了他一贯的对当代艺术世界中的艺术家、创作及权力关系的尖锐调侃与质疑。

从辛勤劳作到欢庆收获，从偶然相识到携手相伴，从婴儿啼哭到僧侣颂经，从四季交替到人生轮回——五集系列纪录片《西藏一年》通过对生活在西藏江孜八位普通人的跟踪拍摄，细腻而又准确地捕捉了他们的生活与信仰，用真实而又精致的诗意画面叩开了西藏这个充满神秘想象的秘境之门。本片曾在英国广播公司(BBC)1年内连播3次，引起轰动。
A Year in Tibet is a tender, elaborately-detailed account of life in a land of emptiness and majesty. Sun Shuyun spent 12 months in Gyantse, Tibet’s third-largest town, directing a five-episode documentary series about the lives of eight ordinary Tibetans. The film was broadcast on BBC three times in 2008 and drew worldwide attention.

生于1974年的Aric Chen，来自纽约，是一位独立记者，评论家和策展人。 他目前是《Surface》、《 I.D.》、《室内设计》以及《Crystallized》（施华洛世奇）等多家杂志的编辑并为《纽约时报》、《Art + Auction》、《大都会》、《Fast Company》、《GQ》多家杂志撰稿。
After reviewing the market aspects and historical evolution of reporting on the Chinese contemporary creative scene, Aric Chen will show us how Beijing has evolved from an elitist art destination to a hub of hype.
Based in New York, Aric Chen (b. 1974) is an independent journalist, critic and curator specializing in design, architecture and art. He is currently a contributing editor for Surface, I.D., Interior Design and Crystallized (Swarovski) magazines and writes for The New York Times, Art + Auction, Metropolis, Fast Company, GQ and others.

和其它影片一样，TVC（Tele Vision Commercial） 来自于故事图版。大众永远没有机会可以看到它，它们描述的场景经常在制作过程中就发生了改变，但是它们仍然是影片的来源。黄承光可能是中国绘制最美的广告图板的人。来UCCA发现品牌创立的后台故事！
TVC. Tele Vision Commercial. Just like any other movie all of them first come from a storyboard. General public never get to see them, scenes they depict are often widely transformed in the process, but they still stand as the origins of the film. Huang Chengguang probably draws the most beautiful advertising storyboards in China. Come and discover the back office of brand making.

你是否也梦想成为服装设计师？你是否充满奇思妙想？本期工作坊我们将邀请先锋服装设计师张达带领小朋友们一起用纸板作材料为自己设计心中的奇异服装！
张达，中国先锋青年设计师，其服装设计多次参加国内外设计大展，并荣获奖项，其艺术创作低调执著，自成一体。
*儿童年龄建议在4-12周岁，需由一名家长陪伴。活动需预约，会员50元每个儿童，非会员80元每个儿童。

《浮城游生》多媒体舞台剧一共由五幕组成,每一幕大约10分钟。为多幕篇章式，每一幕都有个独特的创意，概念也各不相同，多媒体、声音、肢体语言三者各有侧重。有时多媒体声音身体舞蹈各自图解对方，有时三者紧密的咬合关系，或者散文式合作等。总之利用数字科技把三者结合，发挥到极至的深度实验，而且言之有物让观众能看明白是主要出发点。多媒体景象主要由多组投影机及灯光的奇妙用法，各种多媒体道具及机械舞台的变化组合，具象的声音,舞者的肢体语言呈现出舞台奇特的空间及景象。
贯穿这五幕的是对城市兴建和破坏的思考，对个体索取与浪费的质疑。一城之兴，集结的是人类千年的文明和智慧，也承载了无数个体的欲望与梦想。城市的建设和发展，不仅使得生命价值的存在和提升有了条件与机会；也一步步见证了个人愿望与梦想的达成和实现。可以说，城因人而建，人依城而兴。兴与建，将个体凝聚，令梦想飞翔；同时，也悄无声息地让贪婪的火苗蔓延。于是，日复一日，年复一年，建设似乎不复存在，剩的只有浪费和破坏；发展开始变得艰难，留下的只是斗争和取舍。同一片土地，同一座城市，虽然可以实现无数美好的梦想，但却无法阻止贪婪的滋生。当重新审视这片土地和这座城市的时候，我们发现作为个体进行无休止的索取与浪费的危险，也感到兴建和破坏之间并非相差千里，难以逾越。该如何平衡无尽的欲望和有限的资源，该怎样取舍美好的梦想和严峻的现实？带着这些思考和质疑，伴着观众的假设和猜想，“浮城游生”在一幕幕中展开……

现代传播集团编辑总监、普利策奖得主、著名摄影家刘香成先生将作客UCCA，这位足迹遍布世界的摄影家，经历了很多历史性的时刻，他是如何用镜头思考，记录历史的？结合其在中国的首次公开摄影作品展“实事求是”，我们将共同分享刘香成先生不凡的摄影之路。刘香成先生的摄影作品展“实事求是”于8月8日-9月20日在三影堂画廊展出，展出作品选自刘先生1983年出版的摄影集《China After Mao: Seek Truth from Facts》，其中文版《改革开放的开始——毛泽东以后的中国》也将在9月出版。
The editor, winner of the Pulitzer prize, and renowned photographer Liu Heung Shing will be sharing his International life experiences with UCCA audiences. On the occasion of his first photo exhibition in China—seeking truth from facts, Liu Heung Shing, will also speak about his unusual career as a photographer.

M LAB. 合伙人与执行创意总监。被视为中国最具影响力的书籍设计师之一。获奖众多，包括香港设计师协会奖和东京字体俱乐部奖。
Base Design (比利时)
Base Design创意团队专长是创意指导、艺术指导和平面设计，同时兼具全球视野与本土化运作，在布鲁塞尔、纽约、巴黎、巴塞罗那、马德里和圣地亚哥均设有办事处。
David Carson (美国)
以创新的杂志设计和字体实验著名的美国平面设计师。曾任《Ray Gun》杂志艺术总监。称得上是90年代最富影响力的平面设计师。

每三年举办一次的世界设计大会10月将在北京隆重举行。UCCA作为大会的支持单位届时会邀请与会的七位设计师来艺术中心进行专题讲座，中国年轻的平面设计师广煜将和他们展开一系列的对话活动，通过这为期一周的活动我们将领略到世界级设计大师的风采、欣赏到他们顶级的创意作品。
In partnership with ICOGRADA, UCCA invites six designers to give a series of talks on different topics. During this one-week activity, visitors will discover designer’s works and personalities.
