Dear Friends,

In light of the upcoming holiday for St. Valentine, this week's elvish
word is /mel/, the Quenya word for 'love', as in friendship. This
word comes to us in the Sindarin greeting, /Mae govannen mellonamin/,
meaning 'Well met, my friend'. /Mellon/ is the Sindarin word for
'friend', and inflected with /-amin/, becomes 'my friend'.
