I was invited to give a presentation on Quenya and the Tengwar at my
old community college by my philosophy professor, Janice Daurio. I
just finished inking my handout, which is a table of the Tengwar with
each glyph in red ink and beside it: the corresponding english letter,
the tengwa's name written in Quenya, Latin transliteration, and
English. I thought I'd share the result with you guys. Despite
appearances, this list isn't quite dead yet!

I've also been taking another stab at walking through Thorsten Renk's
Quentin Lambe Eldaiva. I highly recommend this book!

Hi Kris! It sure has been a while!

I didn't know Thorsen had a book out! Or are you referring to his
online course?

I would be interested in taking a stab at his course if anyone would
like to work along with me on it. I have been away from Quenya for a
while and would really like to get back to it if I can find the time.
Is there anyone on this list that would like to work with me?

I've only just gotten through Lesson 1 up to page 24. I am guessing
that book and online course are one in the same: it isn't published
anyhow. I don't have all the time in the world to dedicate to this,
so you could probably catch me up by Saturday which will probably be
my next chance to push through it. My tack so far has been to catalog
all of the words as they're introduced (in both Latin and Tengwa
characters) alongside their meanings, and then making a new page for
each new inflection, writing the inflection for each word that's
introduced. It's a sort of building-up process and it's helping me
memorize the words and conjugations. My AIM is Cowbert von Moo if you
want to practice in IM or something.

Lise,

Look for "Quetin i lambë eldaiva" at
http://www.phy.duke.edu/~trenk/elvish/. That's the course I've been
using.
