RDF containers considered harmful

One of the Linked Data tutorials advises against using RDF containers in Linked Data structures (see "RDF Features Best Avoided in the Linked Data Context"). Instead it recommends using multiple triples with the same predicate.
I mention this because in our design discussions Scott and I were leaning towards RDF:Bag objects for certain linguistic data sets.
