Dear All,

It is with a deep sense of regret that I convey the demise of Francis Jayachandran, former Secretary and Editor of our Journal after  a brief period of illness. He was aged  81.In his death ELTAI has lost one of its stalwarts  When I was looking for a sponsor for  the conduct of Annual conferences which could not be held for some years after the British Council stopped aiding us, Francis came forward to sponsor it at his school and its Management met all the expenses .( One David Brazil from U.K who happened to visit Chennai at that time was the Keynote speaker.) It motivated other  school and College managements offering to sponsor our Annual conferences in subsequent years Now there is now looking back, as you know,

Francis used to visit our Printer’s office after his school was over. Quite a long distance but he didn’t mind. He was so duty conscious. Our deep condolences to his berieved  family.

May his Soul rest in peace!
