Dear Dr Anil Sarwal,

Greetings from the British Council!

British Council is delighted to invite you to the launch (Live Webcast) of the ‘English Impact Report’ a fresh analysis of the English ASER data, published by the British Council and Pratham-ASER Centre on Wednesday 20 November 2013 at 6:30PM at British Council, Chandigarh followed by Panel discussion on ‘What can make a difference to English language learning outcomes in India?’

The British Council and the Pratham-ASER Centre, which produces the largest survey of learning outcomes at the primary level in India, the Annual Status of Education Report, have begun to collaborate on research into English assessment and education issues. The first stage of this collaboration, the English Impact Report, brings together short papers from leading academics to present valuable insights into the rich linguistic tapestry of India and the future role of English education. At its centre is a pilot study to apply innovative analysis techniques to explore the data derived from the Annual Status of Education Reports in new ways.

The launch and panel discussion will also be webcasted live to audiences in our Bangalore, Chennai,  Mumbai and Kolkata centres, with the chance to ask questions live via Twitter.

Please confirm your participation to Kamal Bhardwaj at kamal.b...@britishcouncil.org or call on 0172-5203000, 5203014

Kindly join us for refreshments at the end of the launch.

We shall be grateful if you could publicise this event among ELTAI forum.
