·         27 March -29 April 2017-The Big Friendly Read

The British Council brings the Reading Challenge for children! It is a simple challenge – children join the challenge, read the books and are rewarded for reading. There are also numerous events and activities held linked to the Challenge to inject creativity into the child’s reading experience. Children who complete the Challenge are presented with a certificate, and often a medal as well, at a special ceremony. This gives them a real sense of achievement.

ABOUT BIG FRIENDLY READ

The Big Friendly Read features some of Roald Dahl's best-loved characters and the amazing artwork of his principal illustrator, Sir Quentin Blake. The challenge encourages children to discover new books by exploring similar themes found in Dahl’s books across the best contemporary children's writing. The BFR also encourages each child to maintain a collector’s folder which features themes such as invention, mischief and friendship as explored in Roald Dahl's books. The challenge will begin by 27 March 2017.
