Dear All,

The English Department of Gargi College is hosting a literary festival on the theme of "Writer-Text-Reader: Problems and Approaches",on the 4th of Feb.We invite student presentations on the following topics:
•     Reading cultures in the contemporary youth
•     The relevance of theory
•     New literatures-genres, media and languages
•     Personal narratives of how a text changed a particular student's life
•     What does the English Literature curriculum need to include and why?
•     What does literature have to offer to our world today?
•     The contributions of other disciplines to the field of literary studies.

Students are requested to limit their papers to not more than 10 minutes. They are also requested to confirm  participation by the 30th of January 2009.

Please encourage your students to participate. A list of panelists will also reach your college shortly.
