Together, these standards articulate the values that unite us and outline the responsibilities that attend the great privilege of being at Stanford. In a meanwhile, Ribbon XML is more complicated, time-consuming, more work to deal with (because you have to make it manually: writing callback, etc), not able to access its items via Globals. The only thing, I think Ribbon XML might be useful, since it might be used for different office applications (because you can transfer a xml file from one project to another project easily ???)
The Standard Review Committee (SRC) was established to review, revise, and update standards and documents. Public input and participation is requested by the submittal of proposals for suggested changes, comments, recommendations and other information. The process will accomplish review of all documents within a five year cycle.
Significant issues may be considered outside of the 5-year cycle for existing standard drawings, construction specifications, and the IDM. Issues will be vetted and, if determined applicable, will be updated or saved for future review cycles.

This fall, the Building Owners and Managers Association International (BOMA) will release the latest version of its Office Standard, which provides a uniform basis for measuring rentable area in both existing and new office buildings. The 2017 version will adopt the best practices learned from the 2010 Standard and seeks to accommodate design and amenity trends, which have evolved since the previous standard was released. The updates will impact the way that building measurements are calculated and may change the rentable area of a building that was measured with either BOMA 1996 or 2010 Office.
While the example above shows a three percent increase in rentable, each situation is different. The impact on the rentable area of other office buildings may be larger or smaller. After the new Office Standard releases in September, measuring with 2010 or even 1996 will still be an option. Understanding the nuances of each standard becomes important for determining which standard will be most advantageous for a situation.
