quiz and seminar conducted successfully

Dear all,

We are glad to inform all of you that LOCUS 2008-09 has successfully
conducted three programs till now. We have organized a charity show on
drama "NYAYAPREMI" at Gurukul on 25th Magh 2065 which was completed
with very much success.

Secondly, we have conducted an inter-engineering college technical
quiz competition on 10th Falgun, 2065. Last year quiz was conducted
during the event days. As we have combined the post of Quiz
coordinator and paper presentation coordinator in this LOCUS
committee, quiz was held before the event to make it effective and
successful. There were 11 teams from different engineering colleges
inside the valley that took part in the quiz. The team from Pulchowk
Engineering Campus got the first position. Kantipur Engineering College
(Dhapakhel) and National Engineering College (Banasthali) got second
and third position respectively. The prize distribution for the
winners will be done after the final event which will be held on
Jestha 2066.

Most recent, Locus has successfully organized a Seminar on 13th Falgun
2065. The topic was one of the current issues in Nepal "Loadshedding
Why and How Long?" (Loadshedding Kina ra Kahile Samma?). The program
was conducted with grand success. The presenters were:
1. Ratna Sansar Shrestha (Director of GTZ).
2. Sher Singh Bhat (Director, Load Dispatch Division, Nepal
Electricity Authority)
3. Santosha Nanda Mishra (Former Director of NEA)
4. Dilli Ghimire (Director, Community Based Electrification Division)
About 200 participants from different Engineering colleges have
attended the seminar.
