ABOUT THE WEBINAR:
Our speakers from CEIBAL will introduce “The League of Challenges”—an initiative focused on embedding essential skills into classroom learning through a child-friendly approach. The League aims to:

  • Clarify: Help students understand core skills in age-appropriate ways.
  • Prioritize: Elevate these skills within the learning process.
  • Promote Development: Encourage hands-on practice for skill mastery.
  • Evaluate: Provide tools for students and educators to assess these skills in meaningful ways.

This framework includes physical materials, such as character cards symbolizing global skills, aligned with Uruguay’s 2023 competency framework.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS: 

Dr. Claudia Brovetto,  Manager of Pedagogical Innovation Community at CEIBAL 

She has a PhD in Linguistics. Since 2016, she has been the manager of : La Red Comunidad de Innovación Pedagógica (Network: Pedagogical Innovation Community) and Ceibal en Inglés.

She obtained a Bachelor's degree in Linguistics from the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences (University of the Republic, 1995). In 1998, she did a Master's degree in Linguistics from Georgetown University, USA, with a Fulbright Commission scholarship. In 2002, she completed her PhD in Linguistics at the same university. She has been a university professor (University of the Republic, Catholic University, University of Montevideo), a professor of Linguistics in English teacher training programs (IH London Institute, Instituto de Profesores Artigas), a member of the ANEP - CODICEN Language Policy Program, and the coordinator of the Second Languages Department at CEIP

 

Dr. Carlos Libisch, Head of New Measurements, CEIBAL

He has  the position of Head of New Measurements since 2018. He has a PhD in Neuroscience and Clinical Psychology from the University of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, where he also completed his Master's studies. He did his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of the Republic Uruguay.

He has extensive experience in both public and private educational institutions and is a researcher at the Clinical Research Center in Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology, University of the Republic. Additionally, he has worked as a consultant for the IDB in the development of assessment tools for the Institute of Educational Evaluation, as well as for the Pan American Health Organization on drug prevention programs. He has published several international articles on topics related to education and health.


Organised as part of the Scrappies project: Enhancing creativity and sustainable attitudes of children through play and recycled materials.
