How on earth do you force this *lovely* device to change what account is logged into a specific channel? Someone was visiting me and added a couple channels (disney, netflix) with their account info to see if I liked them enough to subscribe. Now we absolutely cannot get the *#&!* Roku to forget their log-in info so I can use my own.

I've tried removing the channels multiple times from both website and the device, doing a factory re-set on the device itself, etc.

I really, really don't want to have to delete my entire roku account and create a new one from scratch...and frankly if I need to I'll just buy a firestick so I don't have to deal with this again.

Everything you need to know is right inside the channels themselves. You also could have called your friend and ask them to log out of all devices from within their Netflix account and Disney account.

For Disney Plus, scroll down from the header carousel to the menu of icons. On the left is the sidebar. Go there. Scroll down to Settings. In there is Log Out. Just like it is on Fire TV devices, because that's how Disney designed the app.

There are several fixes for when Netflix isn't working on Roku. Check that Netflix itself isn't down, make sure your Roku device is attached properly, and ensure the Roku is connected to Wi-Fi. Try restarting the Roku, updating the Roku app on your mobile device, resetting the Roku remote, or resetting your Roku device.

To change the Netflix user account on your Roku, you'll need to delete the Netflix app from your Roku and add it again with the account you want. From the Roku home screen go to My Channels > Netflix, press the star key on the remote, and select Remove Channel. Then go to the Roku Channel Store, add Netflix again, and log in with the new account.

To change the Netflix watch profile on Roku, exit out of Netflix on your Roku, then open the Netflix channel again. Select a different profile, then continue to Netflix. Netflix allows up to five watch profiles for each account.

@RokuKariza-D Not an ideal solution, but I created a new roku account then factory reset the roku and signed in with the new account. Now Netflix works. So looks like an issue with the old roku account somehow. At least I can watch Netflix. LMK if Roku is not planning on fixing this and I'll put in a request to delete my old account.

I can log into Netflix and view previews. But, when I attempt to play individual episodes it loads up to 25% and never plays the episode. I have restated my Roku, deleted the Netflix channel, signed in and out and restarted my modem and router to no avail. Not sure if this is a Netflix or Roku issue.

You mentioned that you already tried removing the app. Did you restart your Roku device before re-installing the channel? That step is crucial when performing the troubleshooting. If you haven't tried the suggested order (remove > restart > re-install), we would recommend giving it a shot once again.

Thanks for your reply. The issue is only occurring for Netflix. I tried the suggested order of removing the app, restarting the Roku and re-installing, but that did not work either. I have done the system restart from the settings many multiple times as well. I'm not sure what the issue is here.

When problems are confined to a particular channel, it may be that the channel didn't install properly, that it didn't update correctly, or that the installation has otherwise gotten corrupted. A reinstall may fix the problem, so give it a try.

Remove/reinstall procedure:

Since you are still unable to play videos from one channel after attempting the suggestions above, videos from other channels play fine, contact the channel provider's customer support team to report the issue and get help. Channels on Roku are maintained by the channel developer themselves. In this case, there's likely an issue within that specific channel that needs to be addressed with an update from them.

Did you recently change the payment method? Maybe your card was locked for any reason? Regardless, payments often fail for no apparent reason. Log into your Netflix account and see if your account is active.

There you go; a few ways to reset Netflix, update your Roku, and check your account status. If none of these methods has helped you, it might be time for a new streaming device. On the bright side, there are plenty to choose from.

When you delete an app from your device, or in this case a channel from your Roku list, all the data associated with that channel will be lost. This includes login information.
