I've never seen any reason to move away from Adobe Reader. All other readers may be quicker or more convenient or something like that, but Adobe is the workhorse. If all you're doing is looking at PDFs, use whatever. But if you need to DO anything like fill forms or print or whatever, Adobe can't be beat (yet).
I guess Adobe reader works good, when it works...I don't mean to rant, but I sometimes wish there was a good alternative to it because when it breaks, it breaks bad. On the home front, I've deleted it off my PC's but at work we still use it.

Microsoft Edge is now capable of generating automatic images descriptions for users browsing the web with screen readers. The accessibility feature uses Azure Cognitive Services intelligence to generate alt text for web images that do not include it.
