A dog was set on fire and burned to death in the sewer system in northwest Harris County on Saturday morning. The burned dog was found in the sewer at the intersection of Ella Crossing and Burnell Oaks Lane.

HOUSTON -- A dog was set on fire and burned to death in the sewer system in northwest Harris County on Saturday morning.

The burned dog was found in the sewer at the intersection of Ella Crossing and Burnell Oaks Lane.

“It appears the dog was dumped and set on fire,” said Harris County Fire Marshal investigator Scott Schoonover.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office at 281-537-5900 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

yes we heard about this Saturday evening. Absolutely insane. I can not believe someone would do that. I also hope somebody comes forward and identifies who did it from that surveillance video.

Terrible indeed. From the perspective of dog owners and pet lovers, we were horrified. To take place INSIDE our subdivision was insult to injury. I am assuming the HOA knows about this, but I haven't received any communication as yet. I might send them a note.

I noticed there are signs posted now about this incident. I heard something about there possibly being surveillance tape/footage from a neighbor, but it seemed inconclusive at best.

Be vigilant!
