HI there

I'm looking for a django-based CMS, and have comed across ELLA as a
very interesting solution.
From what I understand, you guys in the core development team, are
working on a version fit for sharing with the Django community.
My question then, is how far you are from a 'mature' release?
Or, to put it differently, if I would like to have a site up and
running in 3-4 months, should I go with the current download, or wait
for a release?

Thank you for taking the time to answer this mail

Hi Henrik,

The status is that frontend is ready and tested, there might be bugs,
but we will weed them out during the next few weeks for sure since we
are going to deploy the new version into production. The current maste
works only for patched version of django (patch #3400), but we already
have a version that works with vanilla django 1.1 (trunk) that we will
be pushing to github any time now.

The best thing to do know would be to start building your app using
ella, I can promise you that 99% of it won't change and if it does we
will have a migration script for your. The only exception is
ella.comments which is on our ToKill list, I suggest using the new
django-threadedcomments instead.

The one part of ella that's not finished (apart from docummentation :(
) is the admin interface 'newman', it works and is rapidly improving,
but won't be frozen until a month from now (our deadline that must be
met on our part).

Please let us know if you have any further questions or run into any problems.

Hi Honza

Thank you for a rapid answer ;-)
I'll download the current version and start investigating  the 'Ella way'.

Thank you for sharing.
