My first few attempts to start a visual novel in Game Maker were extremely difficult and overwhelming. It took a ridiculously long time for me to get the tiniest parts of a text system working correctly. Then I found the Edge VN Engine by ThinkBoxly. It was well worth the price to get some solid code to start building a visual novel in Game Maker.
Downloading it, I tried to think up of a quick game to make in Visual Novel Maker. At the time, I had a bunch of school projects to work on, with an essay due the following week, so I thought of making something really short. I decided that my visual novel would be some jokey JRPG nonsense, more specifically, side missions.

Announced to be released on November 6, Monument Point is ready to release its upcoming visual novel/adventure hybrid Untale: King of Revinia. We got to speak with Untale: King of Revinia creator Denis Zimninsky in order to delve more into the project.
His relationship with his father and with Erlene Rollon, his manner of speech and the way Gerald acts and behaves in difficult situations make him my favorite. There is also some personal empathy for this character.
Also, I want to mention here our event system and the way your choices will affect the game. I am almost proud of how we managed to combine character affliction points and complex choice systems together to create what we have now.
Also the prologue (the small part in the beginning of the game) was added because of the need to introduce the combat system to the players. This fact is not about the difficulty of implementing the feature but about the effect it has on the game.

Ryukishi07 launched the doujin circle 07th Expansion in 2001. He originally produced original cards for Leaf Fight, a trading card game produced by the eroge developer Leaf. After his younger brother Yatazakura learned game programming, 07th Expansion began to produce Higurashi When They Cry, a reworking of concepts from Ryukishi's Hinamizawa Bus Stop script into a psychological horror visual novel, with characters inspired by the works of Key.[5]
Initially, my audience was otaku who attend Comiket, which are a very small fraction of Japanese otaku, themselves a small part of Japanese people in general! I never thought for one second that I could be read, published, edited at the other end of the planet, in France... As for Higurashi, I never thought that people outside Japan might be interested. Umineko in particular is a text that even Japanese people can have difficulty reading. is a simple web-based, free and open-source visual novel editor that can be used in a web browser. It is written in JavaScript without using any third party libraries and thus does not require additional software installation. The engine uses standard HTML5 document elements such as div and img. This allows the use of any media format supported by browsers including vector graphics svg, gif animations and css styles. There is a version of the editor available as a standalone application for Android devices and desktops. All versions are fully compatible with each other and have the same interface.
