Migrate rsnapshot to Elkarbackup

Hello

I'm about to migrate an existing 600GB rsnapshot setup to Elkarbackup
I would like to ask if there is an existing tool to help do the config migration
or if there are some guidelines for doing this kind of import/migrate process

Hi !!

I did it two years ago, and that is the process I followed:

1. - You've to create the clients and jobs, in order to have the folder estructure in the Elkarbackup server.

2.- From your rsnapshot previous backup, you've to identify each folder and with a lot of care, copy them to the corresponding job folder in Elkarbackup folder estructure.

rsnapshot-folder/Daily.0/data-folder1  --> elkarbackup-folder/0001/0001/Daily.0/data-folder
rsnapshot-folder/Daily.0/data-folder5  --> elkarbackup-folder/0003/0005/Daily.0/data-folder

....

rsnapshot-folder/Weekly.2/data-folder1  --> elkarbackup-folder/0001/0001/Weekly.2/data-folder
rsnapshot-folder/Weekly.2/data-folder5  --> elkarbackup-folder/0003/0005/Weekly.2/data-folder

3.- Finally I changed the permissions to ensure that elkarbackup user was the owner of all data I moved from the original server to the elkarbackup server.

I think that this was all.

I think I managed to successfully complete the transfer
I did exactly as you said, but when I've copied the folders I used "cp -al" as rsnapshot does in order to easily revert to the previous state in case of a failure.

I think everything is working perfectly on my end,  except for the mail notifications that I don't know how to properly configure apparently
