Off Topic - Backup Strategy

Hi Everyone

The problem I am trying to solve involves a database backup. 

The database is MySQL and it is 110GB. My policy is to sync first. However, I am finding that each backup is full. This isn't surprising because the innodb file, which is the largest., is constantly changing. My problem is that if I keep 5 daily, 4 weekly, 12 monthly and 1 yearly I am at 2.4T and I have 11 of these servers. 

Is there an approach that will allow me to have smaller backups?

Yes, I did. Unfortunately, the database is too large to dump given the storage capacity. Our process is to stop the DB and copy the files.
