Dear Presidents of OPSA:
RE: Invitation to OPSANs by The Fomenkys to Participate in the Requiem Mass & Vigil/Wake Keeping of Our Dearly Departed, the Rev. Sis. Emmanuella Fomenky
I hope this letter meets you all in the best of moods and finest of spirits. As you may have already heard and known, the cold hands of death knocked on the doors of Rev. Sister Nkeng on the morning of Saturday, January 19, 2013.
Sis Nkeng’s transition reminds us just how fragile this life truly is. We, the Fomenkys are devastated, heartbroken, shocked, and lack of words to express our feelings and emotions during this time of grief. We are blessed that our sister was a child of God, and did her very best to live an exemplary life in line with the norms and expectations of her calling. We know she was everyone’s Sister too and bonded with a lot of sisters from her QRC days. We know and are well aware she spent 5 good years in QRC where she made the best of her friends, collaborators and acquaintances in life. We are thankful for her life, and could not imagine celebrating, mourning, and remembering her without sending a special invitation to her other sisters too (Okoyong Past Students).
Please accept this as a formal invitation to all OPSANS in the DC, MD, VA, & Baltimore areas in particular and the entire OPSA family in the United States in general. A funeral/requiem mass has been scheduled in her honor on Saturday, February 9, 2013 @ 7:00PM at the Resurrection Catholic Church, located on 3315 Greencastle Road, Burtonsville, MD. 20866. And immediately following the mass service, a vigil/wake keeping has been organized by the family and friends of Rev. Sis. Nkeng at Plum Orchard Conference Center/Hall, located on 12210 Plum Orchard Dr, Silver Spring, MD 20904 in her honor.
Thanks for all the direct and indirect sympathies, words of condolences, messages, assistance and memories OPSANs have extended and shared towards the Fomenkys during our time of sorrow, sadness and grief. We are forever grateful and know Sis Nkeng would fondly appreciate your contribution and participation in her farewell mass and wake keeping service.
