Subject: Scholarship program in DC for federal jobs
Good afternoon,
I found your organization while searching for groups who work with the Chinese community in the Edison, NJ area. I'm writing on behalf of English for Heritage Language Speakers, a scholarship program for adult native speakers of specific languages, including Mandarin Chinese, who are interested in working for the U.S. federal government. EHLS offers advanced English classes and career training to help prepare them for these opportunities.
The program takes place at Georgetown University and lasts for 8 months. A full scholarship funded by the U.S. government covers tuition, fees, and a living stipend. You can learn more about the program, its benefits, and requirements at our website, www.ehlsprogram.org. The application deadline for the 2016 program is July 13, 2015.
I will be traveling to Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, and Clifton and Edison, NJ this weekend to give some information sessions in the area (details below). We also have several online information sessions in the next few weeks. EHLS staff will present the EHLS program, provide some tips on the application process, and respond to questions. I would greatly appreciate it if you could announce these events to the members of your community.
