Non-aromatic Cooking?

Posted: 20 Jun 2012 03:54 AM PDT

I like the idea that Hong Ying Guo is exploring with the Purifi Pan. The concept is simple; eliminating annoying cooking fumes right at the source and converting it to a refreshing gust of air. The approach is to add an electronic purifying element straight on the pan’s rim and doing away with conventional hoods. Hopefully its detachable, to enable easy cleaning and as we can see it is suitable for different sized utensils, with a couple of tweaks and refinements, I think we’ll have a winner in our hands.

Curious-Looking Citroen

Posted: 20 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT

Taking inspiration from a variety of natural elements like sand dunes and wood, the Citroen Origin concept combines soft but intense curves and natural wood exterior surfaces with modern features like sweeping LED lighting accents and hideaway doors. The full-size luxury vehicle is simultaneously futuristic and reminiscent of vintage car designs like the Phantom Corsair with which it shares styling cues like flush fenders, absent door handles, and a low profile. Looks a bit like a yacht on wheels to me!

A Spin on the Stool

Posted: 20 Jun 2012 12:01 AM PDT

Gotta love this modern twist on the adjustable stool by Coordination Berlin- the Thread Family series of stools features a seat and thread connected by a wedge-joint in a cross shape that’s visible from above. Like the seat, the thread is also carved out of American walnut, creating a unique, bold aesthetic contrast to the colored, steel base.  In three slightly different variations, the Thread Small Stool, Thread Bistro Table and Thread High Stool function as an attractive combination or each as a single piece.
