Subject: Petition against high electricity bill charges

Dear Owners/Residents,
Wishing you and your family a wonderful year ahead. Thanks for your
continuous support to us in helping us in our effort to make this EGV
community a better place to live.
At present builder has decided to charge us at flat highest domestic rate
of 8.1/unit and applicable commercial taxes resulting effecting per unit
charge coming to approx. 10.66/unit. As many of you might be aware we are
in discussion with our builder on charging process of electricity bill for
individual flats and common area consumption.
In the due process builder has started sending mails with demand to pay
electricity bill consumption amount from your day of handover till Oct’14
at the above mentioned rate. Due date to pay the same is mentioned by
15th Jan’15
or else there will be elevated interest rate (24% interest rate I suppose)
for the delay.
We would request you to hold this payment for the time being and taking
this opportunity to invite you all (Phase 1 only including tower 4 & 5) to
sign a joint petition in a meeting at EGV clubhouse on *4th Jan’15, 11am*.
In case people who are settled outside Kolkata or won’t be able to join
this meeting can please send me your mail response favouring the petition
against the present electricity charging process by builder.
This doesn't guarantee any immediate solution but an effort to streamline
the same for our community's brighter future. By not trying to impose
anything it’s entirely an individual’s call to go ahead with payment if
there is no positive outcome by 10th Jan’15 or if the penalty clause in
delaying payment after 15th Jan’15 makes one uncomfortable.
If someone has already paid the same can still be part of this petition and
then we will discuss the same with builder to adjust in future billing.
Looking forward for your support on the same. Pls do pass this mail if
someone you know haven’t received it.
