Not sure how many of you are aware of this...there is a meeting with
Surekha folks this sunday (07 Dec) at 10 AM to discuss the exorbitant
electricity rates Surekha is charging us.

Request you all to make every effort to join this meeting. Incase you
are unable to join, please send somebody as your representative

lesson learnt we have understood that absence of right set of
stakeholders in the meeting won't serve the purpose.
11am Saturday will not work out as reason provided in the mail chain.
But to be fair we are providing two options either Saturday eve or
Sunday morning.
We need to be cognizant of the fact that we are not doing these
meetings every day and I am sure you will agree this is one of those
important meetings we must have.
Will not be a viable solution too to ask everyone to skip their
professional commitments to come down to Loudon Street.

We residents are not comfortable with the given highest slab billing
along with tax components been added to the same. We were under
impression from last meeting that billing will be done only against
highest slab without any taxes part on which further discussion will
take place. Still for residents domestic consumption the highest slab
is coming to an exorbitant bill.
We understand builder is paying the bill directly till now as the
electricity at EGV is bulk commercial connection however to be fair
with the residents should be charged as per WBSEDCL's slab based
domestic tariff and applicable taxes for domestic rates.


We need more clarity of the various taxes been added to the bill and
how they are distributed.


During our meeting with Keppel we were informed that common area
electricity charges will be debited from resident's maintenance fund
in place. Also the common area charges will be equally distributed
across all the flats in the capacity of Phase 1. So would like to take
this opportunity to request again for the expense statement of the
maintenance fund for which considerable time been given already to
builder for auditing purpose. This has to be the pre-requisite for
generation of any demand statement related to electricity.


Hence as next step requesting to send meeting invite to all owners of
Phase 1 to discuss the above points and whatever gets mutually agreed
between owners and builder in the meeting should be used a base lined
for electricity charging.

MVCA (Monthly Variable Cost Adjustment) is charged by WBSEDCL every
month and the rates are notified by them and reflect in the bills they
send. This varies from month to onth. It is charged on actual basis.


Similarly electricity duty is also charged by WBSEDCL at the rate of
17.5% of 99% of the total amount billed less meter rent.

The average rate per unit is coming around Rs 10.12.

A major portion of the bill is taken care by Elita Garden Vista
Project Pvt Ltd.
